Sat 24 Oct, 2:00 pm Sat 24 Oct, 5:00 pm

The lake trio debut as Dynamax Pokémon in five-star Max Battles on the afternoon of 24 October, each in its own region: Uxie in Asia-Pacific, Mesprit in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, and Azelf in the Americas and Greenland. Every Power Spot hosts Max Battles and they refresh more often, so it is a good time to battle with a local group and stock up on Max Particles.

Minior Showers: Orionids

Mon 19 Oct, 5:00 pm Sat 24 Oct, 11:59 pm

Minior makes its Pokémon GO debut in its Meteor Form during the Orionids meteor shower, from 19 to 24 October, with its Green Core appearing for the first time. Evenings are the time to look, when Minior turns up more often in the wild. In battles against Team GO Rocket, team leaders and in the GO Battle League, Minior switches from Meteor Form to its exposed core once its HP falls below half, trading Defence for Attack.

City Safari: Boston

Sat 24 Oct, 10:00 am Sun 25 Oct, 6:00 pm

After severe weather disrupted the in-person City Safari in Boston, it now runs mainly as a global event on 24 and 25 October, open only to people who already hold a ticket. Ticket holders anywhere get the wild encounters and bonuses planned for Boston, plus Timed Research with encounters with Flabébé (Orange Flower), Hawlucha, Mudbray and Komala. Extra Special Research for spinning PokéStops in Boston rewards Eevee wearing an explorer hat with a Boston location background, and there is no Boston GO Stamp Rally.

GO Pass: October

Tue 6 Oct, 10:00 am Tue 3 Nov, 10:00 am

October's GO Pass runs from 6 October to 3 November, with a Kyogre encounter among the rewards for ranking up. GO Pass Deluxe brings back the Lucky Trinket as its final reward, letting you make a Lucky Friend without reaching Best Friends. Plan to play over 31 October and 1 November, when there is no daily cap on GO Points.

GO Battle League: Twilight Trails

Tue 8 Sep, 8:00 pm Tue 1 Dec, 9:00 pm

The Twilight Trails season of the GO Battle League runs from 8 September to 1 December, with ranks reset at the start. Mega-Evolved Pokémon can now battle in the league through Mega Edition versions of the Great, Ultra and Master Leagues and several Mega-themed cups, and many attacks have been rebalanced or added to Pokémon's movesets. Climbing the ranks earns Ryme-inspired avatar items and reward encounters, and a free Timed Research pass tracks your wins all season.
