The event has now finished.

Bug Out brings the Galar region's Blipbug, Dottler and Orbeetle to Pokémon GO for the first time, from 17 to 23 March. Blipbug appears in one-star raids, while bug-type Pokémon fill the wild, Lure Modules and three-star raids, with Pinsir, Scizor and Kleavor among the raid bosses. A free GO Pass with a paid Deluxe upgrade runs alongside, and its milestones unlock extra XP and Candy bonuses.

Event bonuses

  • Regular Lure Modules attract different Pokémon, changing every few days:
    • 17 March at 10:00 to 19 March at 10:00: Paras and Sizzlipede
    • 19 March at 10:00 to 21 March at 10:00: Cutiefly and Sizzlipede
    • 21 March at 10:00 to 23 March at 20:00: Combee and Sizzlipede
  • Better shiny chance for Paras, Combee and Cutiefly attracted to regular Lure Modules
  • Event-themed Field Research tasks rewarding items and encounters with event Pokémon
  • Blipbug evolves into Dottler for 25 Candy, and Dottler into Orbeetle for 100 Candy

GO Pass

Rewards must be claimed by 25 March at 20:00 local time. Extra bonus tasks are due to be added during the event.

Tier 1

  • 2× XP for catching Pokémon with a Nice Throw or better

Tier 2

  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon (3× with Deluxe)

Other rewards

  • Encounters with Blipbug and other event Pokémon, Stardust, XP, Lure Modules and Great Balls
  • Encounters with more event Pokémon, Premium Battle Passes, Lure Modules, Rare Candy XL and Candy XL (Deluxe)

  • GO Pass Deluxe (US$4.99): upgraded rewards and faster progression
  • GO Pass Deluxe + 6 Ranks (US$6.99): also gives enough GO Points to reach Rank 7
