The event has now finished.

The Kuala Lumpur stop of PokéXciting!, Pokémon's 30th anniversary tour of Asia-Pacific cities, is the first of the tour and is played around KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September. It introduces PokéXciting! Pikachu, here in a turquoise costume found only in this region, which stays in the wild in the city for a month afterwards. Two GO Stamp Rallies, two free Timed Research stories, party-hat Pokémon, local Unown and Gigantamax Battles against Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise add to it, alongside a Pokémon-themed drone show and stage performances at the venue.

Event bonuses

  • Cross-region GO Stamp Rally: KLCC Park holds Kuala Lumpur's stamp, one of five spread across the PokéXciting! cities; collecting it gives an encounter with PokéXciting! Pikachu (Turquoise) with a local Location Background
  • KLCC Park GO Stamp Rally: collect five stamps with Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu and Vileplume designs for an encounter with PokéXciting! Pikachu (Turquoise) with a local Location Background; available for a month after the event
  • Two free Timed Research stories with rewards including PokéXciting! Pikachu encounters, a Premium Battle Pass and an event sticker
  • Event-themed Field Research
  • 2× XP for spinning PokéStops
  • ½ Stardust cost for trades
  • 2 extra Special Trades
  • 1-hour Lure Modules
  • More Candy for catching Pokémon with Nice, Great and Excellent Throws
  • 5 surprise encounters a day in GO Snapshot
  • Bonus balloons with extra supplies every hour
  • A special map effect and event-themed stamp rally PokéStops
  • Pokémon GO booth at KLCC Park: redeem a PokéXciting! sticker, take photos at the photo setup, and get a free photobooth photo for collecting at least three of the six stamps
