Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale

Mega Finale is a global event that closes the 2026 GO Fest season on 5 and 6 September. Armored Mewtwo returns to five-star raids on both days for the first time since 2020, though it cannot be shiny. Mega Mewtwo X takes over Mega Raids on Saturday and Mega Mewtwo Y on Sunday, and both gain new attacks and Adventure Effects, as do the Kalos first partner Megas. Mega Ascension leads into the weekend from 31 August.

Event bonuses

• Some Pokémon caught from Mega Raids may have a Special Background inspired by Mega Evolution, which changes while the Pokémon is Mega Evolved
• Debut of extra Charged Attacks for Mega-Evolved Kalos first partners: Seed Bomb+ for Mega Chesnaught, Mystical Fire+ for Mega Delphox and Surf+ for Mega Greninja
• Debut of extra Charged Attacks for Mega Mewtwo: Dynamic Punch+ for Mega Mewtwo X and Future Sight+ for Mega Mewtwo Y
• Mewtwo Adventure Effects, unlocked when it first learns these moves, paid for with Mega Energy and Candy, and usable afterwards even when Mewtwo isn't Mega Evolved:
  • Dynamic Punch+: more damage against Mega-Evolved Pokémon in Mega Raids and Super Mega Raids, and two shields broken at once in Super Mega Raids
  • Future Sight+: a Pokémon you encounter glows if it will appraise at three stars or higher
• Global Challenge: checking in at local community meetups by 6 September helps unlock 1 Premium Battle Pass and 10 Ultra Balls for everyone
• Timed Research for each day you check in at a community meetup, rewarding a Premium Battle Pass, 100 Link Charges and more

GO Pass

GO Pass: Mega Finale runs from 31 August to 6 September and appears once you complete the Mega Ascension Timed Research, in which you choose Chespin, Fennekin or Froakie.
