May 2026 Community Day Classic: Deino

Deino returns for a Community Day Classic on Saturday 16 May, appearing far more often in the wild, sometimes shiny or with a Special Background. Catch plenty to evolve into Hydreigon, which learns Brutal Swing when evolved from Zweilous during the event or shortly after. Lures keep drawing Deino in for a few hours after the main event ends.

Event bonuses

• 3× XP for catching Pokémon
• Incense lasts three hours (excluding Daily Adventure Incense)
• Lure Modules last one hour and are very likely to attract Deino from 14:00 to 21:00, still with a better shiny chance and possible Special Backgrounds
• Hydreigon evolved from Zweilous until 21:00 knows the Charged Attack Brutal Swing (55 power in Trainer Battles, 65 in Gyms and raids)
• Event Field Research for catching Deino, rewarding Stardust, Great Balls and Deino encounters, some with a Special Background
• Checking in to a Community Ambassador event gives Timed Research with Deino encounters with a Special Background and premium items
• A surprise when taking snapshots during the event
