Pokémon GO Summer Quest: London

An in-person event marking 10 years of Pokémon GO, held around The Green at Boxpark in Shoreditch over two weekends, 1–2 and 8–9 August. Trainers who open the game inside the event area get a free Timed Research, which earns a free coffee at the pop-up and an entry into a prize draw for a trip to Japan. A UK-wide Timed Research with its own prize draw runs at the same time.

Event bonuses

• Free Timed Research for Trainers who open Pokémon GO inside the event area from 10:00 on 1 August to 23:59 on 2 August, or from 10:00 on 8 August to 23:59 on 9 August; its rewards can be claimed until 31 August at 23:59 local time
• A free coffee from the Pokémon GO pop-up coffee station at The Green at Boxpark after completing the first stage of the Timed Research, while stocks last; the pop-up opens from 10:00 to 19:00 on each event day, and the app should stay open until the barista has seen your progress
• Prize draw for a five-night hotel stay for two in Japan with return flights from the UK to Tokyo (worth about £5,000): complete the Timed Research, use the "What's Your Favorite?" feature and share the post on a public Instagram profile with #pokemongosummerquest by 31 August at 23:59 local time; entrants must be 18 or over, winners are contacted by 30 September and the trip must be booked by 1 June 2027
• Trainers can enter both this draw and the nationwide one but can win only one prize
• Meet Miniminter and Chunkz at the pop-up on 1 August from 15:00 to 16:00, following their Pokémon GO race across London
