The event has now finished.

Pokémon GO marks the Lunar New Year from 17 to 21 February with themed wild spawns, Field Research and a catch-focused Collection Challenge. Blitzle and Darumaka are among the wild encounters, and the event centres on trading, with better odds of Lucky Pokémon and Lucky Friends. A paid Timed Research also gives Blitzle and Darumaka encounters.

  • Higher chance of becoming Lucky Friends
  • PokéStops may turn gold without a Golden Lure Module
  • Better shiny odds for Blitzle, Darumaka and Gimmighoul
  • Event-themed Field Research tasks that reward encounters with event Pokémon
