Special Evolution Items
Special evolution items first arrived with the second generation of Pokémon, and are now required when evolving certain Pokémon.
The evolution items are obtained from spinning Pokestops and Gyms. They have a very low drop chance of around 1%, and there is an equal chance of obtaining each item. The 7th day streak bonus gives you an increased chance of obtaining an item, but it's not guaranteed.
Dragon Scale
A scale that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is very tough and inflexible.
King's Rock
A rock that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It looks like a crown.
Metal Coat
A coating that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is a special metallic film.
Sun Stone
A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It burns as red as the evening sun.
Upgrade
A transparent device that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It was produced by Silph Co.
Sinnoh Stone
A special stone originally found in the Sinnoh region that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is very tough and has a beautiful sheen.
Unova Stone
A rare stone that originates from the Unova region that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It is known for its intertwined black-and-white appearance.
