In the run-up to Halloween, Pokémon GO has been given a makeover. The Niantic team are celebrating the true meaning of Halloween with candy and spooky-Pokémon. There has been increased appearances of all the spookiest Pokémon including Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter and Zubat, and most exciting of all there is double candy for almost all in-game actions including transferring, catching and hatching eggs.
Paul Tassi from Forbes has been quick to proclaim that "Pokémon GO's Halloween event is exactly what both fans and Niantic needed right now". He points out that now is "the perfect time to buy multiple incubators with these egg candy bonuses so astronomically high." Once again we are starting to see people out on the streets catching Pokémon.
The new Pokémon GO update has got users back on the app in their droves and it seems no wonder that Pokémon GO has reclaimed the spot as no. 1 top-grossing app on the App Store. You only have until November 1st to make the most of these updates. iTech post has already been speculating over what is in store for Christmas and Easter suggesting the possibility of the increased spawning of Ice Pokémon, particularly Lapras for Christmas and KM Eggs for Easter.
Earlier this year Heavy were suggesting a selection of top 10 Pokémon GO Halloween Costume Ideas so for the most ardent Pokémon fans, it's not to late to get your hands on the perfect Halloween costume.
