A six-hour Hatch Day on Saturday 9 August in which Munchlax hatches far more often from 2 km Eggs, with a better chance of it being shiny. Eggs need half the usual distance from two days before, so it is worth stocking up on 2 km Eggs and incubators ahead of the afternoon. A free Timed Research and an optional paid one with extra hatching rewards run on the day.
